Well, I specialize in THAT!

Custom made walkabout mascots, puppets, headdresses, props and more! The very large, lightweight and/or wearable pieces made of sculpted foam are a specialty of mine. They can be finished in a variety of techniques including airbrush painting or custom covered in fabrics.

I have been creating sets, costumes and custom artwork for many years, and professionally under my freelance art business Gypsy Cat Studios since 2007. Also 2004-2008 as Head Designer of a walkabout mascot and theatrical costume company.

I am a multi-disciplined artist currently completing my MFA in sculpture. I design and create custom work as well as my own designs in a variety of medium using techniques I have learned or developed on my own. My own work is often mixed media with a focus on fabric and inspired by research, travels, and animals.

I am very experienced in the areas of sewing, painting 3d pieces, sculpting, and design. I have also created welded metal sculptures (in progress), sculpted concrete zoo exhibits (Cincinnati Zoo, OH), and wood construction sculptures (SF Zoo and theatrical sets).

I also perform in special events of a theatrical nature.

I have experience teaching classes in art topics or theatrical subjects, such as costume creation, to children. I do have some experience teaching adults as well.

* I do not use animal skins or furs in my work and a portion of profit each year goes to animal rights causes of my choice.
